Yoga is Roots

Yoga is Branches

Yoga is Good

Yoga is a practice of body, mind and spirit that originated in ancient South Asia.  At Accha Yoga we work to decolonize yoga and help it continue to grow as a full, beautiful tree.  A tree cannot survive when cut off from its roots, and it is also more than a single branch.  The eight limbs of Ashtanga Yoga work in harmony in all aspects of our life.  As we calm the mind and bring stillness to the body, we find the good in ourselves and in the world around us.

Meet Katheryn

Born and raised in Texas with roots from Mangalore, India, Katheryn (she/her) lives in Marion, Iowa with her husband and two sons.

Moving away from her family to the Midwest made Katheryn realize the importance of roots.  She is passionate about creating inclusive spaces while maintaining yoga's connection with its South Asian roots to keep the tree healthy and vibrant.

She loves a hot cup of masala chai (with a Parle G, of course!), thrift store treasure hunts, a good book, and cycling.
